After 20 years of being an afterthought, the popularity of the NBA Summer League exploded 2 years ago with Lonzo Ball’s debut. That hype has been eclipsed this year with Zion Williamson making his debut tonight against the Knicks and former Duke teammate R.J. Barrett.
Back when the Summer League wasn’t a “thing,” the faces of today’s NBA still played in it, albeit with less fanfare. Luckily there was still video – even though some of it is cable access quality.
