Yair Rodriguez isn’t a household name among casual UFC fans, but last night in the UFC Denver main event he delivered one of the greatest knockouts you’ll ever see in mixed martial arts.
With time winding in the 5th and final round of Rodriguez’s fight against “The Korean Zombie” Chan Sung Jung, Rodriguez connected with a no-look upward elbow with one second remaining that laid the Zombie out for the count and secured the miracle win. Rodriguez was losing the fight before he landed the miracle shot.
People can debate where this ranks as far as an all-time KO, but it’s got to be up there. It’s not often you see a buzzer beater in MMA, but that’s exactly what we have here.
