Texas high school football is some of the best in the country, and it produced a classic ending in the Class 6A state title game between Galena Park North Shore and Duncanville in Jerry’s World.
Trailing 36-35 with just three seconds left in the game and the ball on the +45-yard line, North Shore was left with one final shot. Sophomore QB Dematrius Davis used it to chuck a Hail Mary into the back corner of the endzone that was hauled in by a receiver in a crowd right by the Cowboys helmet to win the game and the title.
This madness that resulted was like Friday Night Lights on steroids and instantly catapulted these kids to home town legend status. Texas high school football is big time, and this is ending is, too.
