VIDEO: James Franklin had to be physically restrained after PSU fan questioned game-deciding 4th down play call

October 1, 2018 By AM 1530

The Ohio State/Penn state game on Saturday was another in a recent string of instant classics between the two schools, but many Penn State fans were left scratching their heads with James Franklin’s decision to call a run on the game deciding fourth quarter, 4th and 5 play that got blown up by the Buckeye D.

One die hard PSU fan was so pissed at the questionable run call that he called out Franklin over it as he was leaving the field. Surprisingly, a furious Franklin took the bait and engaged in a brief back and forth with the guy while being physically restrained. In Franklin’s defense, he had just suffered as devastating a loss as you can take only moments earlier, and to his credit, he later admitted he should have just walked away.

It was a bad play call, though. McSorely was carving them up and could have gotten that five.  Here’s the confrontation.
