The Rockets and Lakers made the biggest in-game news of the young regular season when Rajon Rondo and Chris Paul’s nose-to-nose encounter sparked an NBA “fight” between the two teams.
The reality is that NBA guys are too rich to actually fight, in the Austrian pro league you better keep your head on a swivel like it’s the 1988 Eastern Conference Finals. In a recent game between he Raiffeisen Flyers Wels and Kafenberg Bulls, Erwin Zulic of Wels hung on the rim a little too long for David Samuels liking. Samuels skipped the jawing and went straight to leveling Zulic with a nasty punch to the back of the head.
As a result of the cheapshot, Samuels was cut by Kafenburg. Bill Laimbeer even thinks this is uncalled for. Maybe.
