The madness started with Gonzaga trailing 36-33 when QB Caleb Williams tossed a touchdown pass to give Gonzaga a 40-36 lead with just under 30 seconds left. Dematha shocked everyone by returning the ensuing kickoff for a score to re-take the lead, 43-40 with . After a botched squib quick, Gonzaga was able to connect with a 59-yard Hail Mary to win the game and complete one of the wildest finishes on any level of football, ever.
