Texas A&M’s 74-72, 7 OT win over LSU was an instant-classic, but was marred by an ugly fight after the final whistle between Jimbo Fisher’s nephew, Cole Fisher, and LSU Director of Player of Development – and former Patriot running back – Kevin Faulk.
Following the game it was initially reported that the melee was sparked when LSU offensive analyst Steve Kragthorpe – who suffers from Parkinson’s disease – was punched in the chest by an unidentified person.
A new Zapruder-like video of the incident posted by Houston Chronicle reporter Brent Zwerneman shows that Kragthorpe wasn’t punched, but rather shoved by Jimbo’s nephew, not that that’s much better. Additional footage also shows LSU safety john Battle clocking young Fisher in the jaw as he was locked up with Faulk during their wrestling match. It’s highly possible that Battle could face a suspension for the Tigers’ bowl game once the SEC offices have a look at it, but that has yet to be determined.
Battle doesn’t look great throwing the punch, but Fisher’s nephew comes off looking like the biggest jerk in the whole mess for pushing a dude with Parkinson’s and generally acting like an ass. What the hell is he – a student manager – doing in the middle of this to begin with? Nepotism is a helluva drug.
