By any measure, the Lakers are a full-blown disaster and capped off a catastrophic season with President and CEO Magic Johnson’s surprising resignation in a postgame press availability, without giving anyone in the Lakers organization a heads up before hand.
Colin has been critical of the Lakers and their front office because of the constant media leaks and complete mishandling of the botched Anthony Davis trade, and they head into this offseason in a completes free fall with diminished trade assets and no certainty of finding additional superstars to team with LeBron. Instead of sticking around, Magic pulled the rip cord in a manner that was similar to how he ran the team, off the cuff and unprepared.
Running an NBA team isn’t glamorous, it’s a grind. Magic should have never taken the job in the firt place.
