Kyrie Irving is learning that being “the man” on a title contending NBA team isn’t as easy as he thought it would be when he forced a trade out of Cleveland and away from LeBron James.
After a frustrating loss to Orlando over the weekend where Irving made headlines for calling out young teammates and coach Brad Stevens, he decided to call The King to apologize for not fully understanding the heavy burden of leading a team, and being overly concerned with getting credit for winning over racking up W’s and winning rings when the two were together.
Kyrie made the surprising revelation following the Celtics 117-108 win over Toronto, last night, that snapped a 3-game Boston losing streak. Heavy is the head that wears the crown, and it seems like Kyrie is finally realizing it’s harder than he thought it would be when he bounced.
