The Packers midseason firing of long-time head coach Mike McCarthy has been hotly debated in terms of merit and if he was sandbagged by Aaron Rodgers.
Yesterday in The Herd, Fox Sports NFL Insider Jay Glazer stopped by to give Colin the inside story of how the firing went down and reaction around the league. Jay spoke with McCarthy after the axing, and said he was shocked he was let go, even in the midst of a sub .500 season and his increasingly visible power struggle with Aaron Rodgers.
He also discussed reaction around the league, and said that many execs around the league thought he deserved a more dignified separation given his long tenure with the organization.
