FS1 Analyst and former Packers wide receiver Greg Jennings stopped by The Herd today, and got candid for the first time about what led to the fracturing of his relationship with his former quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
Jennings and Rodgers had immense success together, and even won a Super Bowl, but he has been open about how his friendship with Rodgers has thawed since he left Green Bay. Today he shared the details of comments Rodgers made about him at the beginning of his final season with the team that rubbed him the wrong way and led to their falling out.
The exchange happened during the first game of the year against the Niners where Greg was frustrated by a lack of targets:
“It’s a timeout and the 49ers’ Carlos Rogers comes up to me and asks why they aren’t getting me the ball and having me run simple routes… Aaron is right here, he’s kind of listening to the conversation, he says, ‘You guys should get him after this year.’
Jennings didn’t appreciate the comments, and things between him and Rodgers have never been the same since.
Watch him explain to Colin how it all went down.
