Colin makes no secret that he’s a huge admirer of Tom Brady and New England’s dynasty, but he always roots for good stories over teams because good content is good for his business.
Despite his admiration for Brady and Belichick, the best potential storyline for this weekend would be if the Patriots lost at home to the Chargers, effectively signaling the end of their dynasty. Colin can already taste the massive ratings for his Monday show if New England goes down, but it’s not gonna happen.
He has repeatedly said that this New England team isn’t on the level of past Super Bowl teams talent-wise, but Tom Brady is 97-8 at home when scoring first, and it’s hard not to see him getting on the scoreboard first against a Chargers team playing their second straight East Coast road game. After jumping L.A. early, the Patriots will grind out another clinical close win like so many times before at Foxboro.
The Chargers unquestionably have the better overall roster, but Brady has beaten more talented teams his entire career, especially at home, The Pats dynasty will end at some point, but it’s not happening this weekend. Not in Foxboro.
