Jon Gruden has been answering questions about the Khalil Mack trade since shipping him to the Bears. He’s also been facing a steady barrage of questions regarding the move since the Raider pass rush has been non-existent through two weeks.
Colin doesn’t think the questions should come as a surprise, but thinks Gruden’s tendency to talk from 10 years spent as an analyst is creating unnecessary problems for him as a coach. There’s no question Gruden is entertaining and a walking soundbite, but now that he’s running a team he should adopt the Bill Belichick approach and say next to nothing.
Gruden is shooting himself in the foot with by continuing to talk because old habits die hard. If he can’t adapt, he van expect a never ending barrage of Khalil Mack questions for the rest of the season.
