Chris Broussard Fires Back After Kevin Durant Questioned His Reporting

May 23, 2019 By AM 1530

Kevin Durant’s rabbit ears picked up a segment on Undisputed where Chris Broussard stated that his reporting on Durant was based on extensive direct texting with the soon-to-be prize free agent of the decade.

Durant took to Twitter and questioned Broussard’s credibility by claiming he didn’t have his phone number. The Tweet went viral with 177,00 likes and social media exploded at the claim, predictably piling on Broussard.

Cap. Cap. Cap cap cap….u don’t have my number mannnnn https://t.co/uJhQjR74Zr

— Kevin Durant (@KDTrey5) May 22, 2019

The reaction prompted Chris to clarify in a tweet that their communication was mostly through social media DM’s, and post a video reaffirming his direct communication with KD.

IG DM, Twitter DM, text – it’s all the same thing nowadays, dude. Don’t act like I’m lying. https://t.co/qynAittN8V

— Chris Broussard (@Chris_Broussard) May 22, 2019

Broussard says the conversations with Durant spanned over 5 hours, but is declining to publish screenshots he has of the conversations. He also just came on The Herd and staked his job on his sourcing, so that’s about as clear a line in the sand as one can draw.

Here’s Broussard’s rebuttal:

On @kdtrey5 situation:

In the past year, I have 60+ IG & Tw DMs from KD, mostly from 3 convos initiated by him spanning 5+ hrs each.

I won’t expose them out of respect 4 KD & others I text with.

I will continue to love, respect & pray for KD – & objectively analyze his game. pic.twitter.com/PBJwG67YKa
