Updates to the American’s with Disabilities Act will require Naperville to enact $2.5 million of work on 22 city-owned buildings and facilities.
The work is required in order for the city to remain compliant with federal guidelines and an architecture firm identified 1,900 areas that will need to be improved or added.
Projects include lowering or raising hand rails, securing entrance ways and adding signage.
